Stories of Light Balloon Glow a Success

Ten hot-air balloons lit up the night-time sky in the Finley River Park in Ozark to kickoff the annual Stories of Light winter fundraising appeal.
Special thanks to balloon owner/operators Carson Elliff, Rick Hughlett, Dallas Matney, Patti Langston, Alan Lawson, Dean Carrington, Janine Konstanzer, Charlie Venable, Bass Pro and RE/MAX. Over 350 cars drove through the park to see not only the annual City of Ozark lights display, but to see the stunning visual impact of the hot-air balloons lit up at night.
Make-A-Wish is especially grateful to the following sponsors who provided support: United Healthcare, Guaranty Bank, State Farm Insurance agent Mike Breeding, Star 105.1, Bass Country 92.9, Q102, 104.7 The Cave, Christian County Headliner and Nixa Xpress.
A special thanks to the City of Ozark Parks Department for their cooperation and encouragement. “With traffic lines to the park this year snaking through town in several directions, next year’s event will focus on traffic control and a longer schedule of balloon viewing, in order to maximize the number of cars coming through the park,” said Jackie Barger, program center director.
