2008 Walk For Wishes - St. Louis
The 3rd annual Walk for Wishes/Indoor Family Fun Walk was a huge success at West County Center shopping mall. More than 600 people turned out for the family-friendly event on Saturday, February 16th.
Fox 2 news anchor John Pertzborn once served as emcee for the walk. John gave the countdown to the walk as Wish Child Jessica cut the ribbon. Throughout the mall walkers were treated to all kinds of entertainment, including appearances by Fredbird, Bearemy the Bear, Geoffrey the Giraffe, H.T. Bee and Ronald McDonald. Local dance groups also entertained the audience before and after the walk.
The most impressive group at the walk all wore red shirts that said Cole's Crew. A team of more than 125 people came out to honor the memory of Wish Child Cole. Cole's stepfather said he was overwhelmed by the show of support for Cole and all of the children served by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri.
