Hall-O-Wishes Party Offers Safe Alternative to Trick-Or-Treating

Nearly two dozen Wish Children and their families attended the first annual Hallo-Wish party at the Springfield Wish House in October.  The festivities gave the children a chance to enjoy typical Halloween activities without having to deal with dark streets and cold weather.

Make-A-Wish of Missouri staff members and volunteers supervised the fun, which included lots of candy, craft-making, games and photos to put in picture frames  decorated by the children.  A huge inflatable ‘bounce house’ was also set up for kids wanting to work off some of their energy.

As with all Make-A-Wish events, the siblings of the Wish Children were encouraged to attend the Hallo-Wish party.  Program Services Coordinator Vikki Schwartze said, “I’m not sure who had more fun—the children or the volunteers.  We all had a great time playing with the kids and making sure the only thing on their minds today was having fun.”
